The Vitality World resorts are part of a wider whole - they thrive on their surroundings whilst giving something back to them in return. For us, thinking about the future means strengthening natural cycles: we focus on regional value creation, conserve resources and invest where we also benefit - in nature, the community and our staff. Those who think in terms of cycles act responsibly. That is why our resorts specifically source eco-friendly electricity, rely on renewable energy sources, manage water responsibly and use local products. An employee-friendly working environment is just as important to us - in this way, everyone - guests and staff alike - contributes to a shared future.
Experience how this principle is put into practice at Vitality World resorts - for a future that remains valuable for everyone.
Commitment to the environment
At our resorts, we use 100 per cent renewable electricity – generated in-house via solar panels at all resorts and geothermal energy at the Spa Resort Geinberg, as well as through our procurement. We work closely with regional partners and producers, particularly when it comes to food. We encourage our guests to travel to us conveniently by bus or train and enable them to support our efforts too. By opting out of daily room cleaning, we support local projects (e.g. tree sponsorship in Laa/Thaya), environmental education programmes (e.g. the ‘Mini-Acker’ project with Geinberg Primary School) and sustainability initiatives (e.g. the ecological restoration of the Kaprun reservoir, in cooperation with Verbund). Did you also know that St. Martins Therme & Lodge includes an eco-educational farm, ‘Gut St. Martins’?
Social responsibility
At Vitality World, our aim is to enhance the wellbeing of our guests, create fulfilling working conditions for all staff, and offer investors security. Diversity, health and safety at work, as well as long-term staff retention and professional development, are all part of our social responsibility. All resorts are certified as ‘family-friendly employers’ and, with the associated government quality mark, are making a conscious commitment to supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Binding corporate guidelines
We operate in accordance with Austrian and European legislation and social norms. Transparency and honesty are important to us. All our resorts have a certified energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001. The 4*S hotels have been awarded the Austrian Ecolabel as event venues.
From retrofitted LED bulbs and bread from the local baker to the spa resort’s own geothermal system at Geinberg, designed specifically to generate heating and cooling: our efforts to ensure a future worth living are diverse and wide-ranging!
By the way, did you know that Vitality World’s 4*S hotels, as event venues, hold the Austrian Ecolabel? This means they meet all the requirements for events taking place as ‘Green Events’ in accordance with the criteria of the Austrian Ecolabel.
Further initiatives and measures have been implemented across all Vitality World resorts: the Vitality World gift card, for example, was developed in collaboration with ‘Save the Ocean’. The PVC used contains at least 99 per cent recycled material, some of which comes from marine waste streams. With ISO 50001 certification, the resorts are committed to systematic energy management and the continuous improvement of energy-related processes. In the interests of transparency, the resorts – as well as Vitality World itself – have undertaken to document their sustainability efforts and to voluntarily produce a VSME report.
